Maygarden on state board

Press release:

Jerry Maygarden, former Mayor of Pensacola and Republican majority leader for the Florida House of Representatives, was recently appointed to serve as a board member and director for the Florida Housing Finance Corporation by Governor Charlie Crist.

The Florida Housing Finance Corporation was created by the Florida Legislature more than 25 years ago to assist Floridians in obtaining safe, affordable housing. The organization works with local governments, non-profits, elected officials and others to increase affordable housing opportunities within the state. Maygarden will serve a four-year term as one of eight board members and will provide council and recommendations related to the state’s current and emerging affordable housing issues.

Maygarden currently works as a public affairs consultant specializing in private fund development for non-profit organizations. In addition, he owns and operates J.L. Maygarden Co., and is a partner and senior policy advisor for the Capitol Hill Group in Tallahassee, Florida.
