Mayor praises Navy decision on reopening the base

Mayor D.C. Reeves has had several discussions with the Pentagon and Navy about reinstating the public access waiver at NAS Pensacola. He made several suggestions, including setting up buses to transport tourists and locals to the National Naval Aviation Museum.

The mayor is very pleased with this week’s announcement: “The base, and this museum, are Crown Jewels of our Pensacola community. Having this amazing museum returned to our area is vital in so many ways. I appreciate the efforts by Capt. Shashaty, Navy leadership and Museum leadership to reopen this incredible resource for the public to enjoy.”
