From Pensacola Mayor D.C. Reeves:
I am grateful for Capt. Tim Kinsella’s impact on the City of Pensacola, and I’m just as grateful to call him my friend.
Tim’s insight and leadership have made us all better. He helped enhance our safety for public events and natural disasters. He spearheaded employee engagement, clarity, accountability and efficiency in our operation and so much more. His work here does not fade away; it will continue to be an asset and a building block to better serve our 55,000 citizens and our 850 City employees.
There would be no ideal day for Tim to leave this administration, but I unequivocally support the decision he has made for his family, and I wish him the absolute best.
Reeves—Kinsella Connection
Mayor Reeves and Capt. Kinsella have a close relationship. When City Administrator Kerrith Fiddler announced his resignation in June 2024, the mayor’s original intent was to conduct a national search, but then Kinsella became available.
“I undoubtedly believe that, national search or not, Tim Kinsella would be at the top of our list,” he said on my radio show last year. “Not only for everything that he’s done and the immense credibility and reputation he has here, but also that is the value of having someone who’s already integrated into the community instead of spending six, eight months learning people’s names and how to get up the elevator at City Hall. We’re going to be rocking and rolling that much faster.”
When Kinsella was introduced to the media at Mayor Reeves’ weekly press conference, he explained why he made the jump from UWF to City Hall.
“This guy, I think has had a lot to do with it. The things that our mayor has done to move our city forward. The idea of being part of that and helping to see his vision come to fruition,” he said. “I fully believe in our mayor. I fully believe in everything that he’s doing.”
