Mayor Wiggins wants plan for CMP to be public works project

Just got off the phone with Pensacola Mayor Mike Wiggins. He has sent a letter to City Manager Al Coby requesting that the city manager put together a plan for the City to take over the Community Maritime Park as a public works project. He expressed his concerns that continued arguing between the master developer and the CMPA Board of Trustees and both parties attorneys and representatives may put the availability of the New Market Tax Credits in jeopardy.

Wiggins said that he has heard from citizens as he has campaigned in the neighborhoods that they are tired of the bickering. He wants Coby to have a plan ready for the city council to consider as soon as possible.
