Mississippi State & FSU Set for Blue Wahoos Stadium Showdown

Pensacola Mayor D.C. Reeves used his weekly press conference to announce that the Florida State Seminoles and Mississippi State Bulldogs will clash in a fall baseball exhibition at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18, at Blue Wahoos Stadium. This marks the second consecutive year that the Seminoles will grace the downtown Pensacola venue.

The matchup carries extra significance as a rematch from the 2025 Tallahassee Regional, where Florida State emerged victorious over Mississippi State to advance to the Super Regional.

Creating Memories for Fans

Last year’s inaugural fall exhibition featured 18 players who were selected in the 2025 MLB Draft, including a program-record 11 from Florida State alone. Three of those Seminoles – Max Williams, Drew Faurot, and Joey Volini – were drafted by the Miami Marlins, meaning they could eventually call Blue Wahoos Stadium home during their professional development.

Blue Wahoos team president Jonathan Griffith emphasized the organization’s commitment to creating unforgettable experiences. “Bringing two elite college baseball teams to Pensacola is going to create memories for a lot of people.”

Tickets become available to Blue Wahoos season ticket members immediately, with general public sales beginning at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, August 12, through BlueWahoos.com.
