Mobility Week starts Friday

The City of Pensacola encourages residents to participate in The Florida Department of Transportation’s Annual Mobility Week, a celebration of making smart, efficient and safe multimodal transportation choices. This year, Mobility Week will be recognized Oct. 29 through Nov. 5, with a variety of ways to participate.

Pensacola Mobility Week Kick-Off Event
Join the City of Pensacola at the 2021 Mobility Week Kick-Off event, hosted by the RideOn Commuter Assistance Program and Escambia County Area Transit. The event will be held on Friday, Oct. 29 from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the ECAT office, 1515 W. Fairfield Drive. Learn about RideOn CAP programs, ECAT transportation routes, fare rates and discounts and receive free promotional items.

Love to Ride Challenge
Join the Love to Ride Challenge for a month-long cycling competition beginning Friday, Oct. 29. Earn points and qualify for prizes by logging bicycle rides and encouraging others to join the challenge. During the 2020 challenge, participating individuals and organizations rode over 200,000 miles. Learn more and register at lovetoride.net/Florida

Cyclist and Motorist Safety Quizzes
Go for the gold with the Florida Bicycle Association safety quizzes atflbikesafetyquiz.com. Test your transportation safety knowledge to earn a gold level certificate of completion that demonstrates your understanding of the rules of the roadway.

Try a New Mode of Transportation
Residents can also participate by simply trying a new way to travel around town during Mobility Week, either on your own or by participating in the Love to Ride challenge. Some ideas include using public transportation, biking, walking, carpooling or riding an e-scooter.
