Of course, while most of Pensacola thinks Commissioner Mike Whitehead is Escambia County’s own Yosemite Sam, the daily newspaper’s columnist writes that he likes Mike ( Mark O’Brien: Frustration taxes Mike Whitehead’s patience over rollback ).
Most of us believe county government is bloated and not focused on the right issues – poverty, health, affordable housing, low wages, economy.
Had Whitehead, Young, White and then-Commissioners Banjanin and Dickson rolled back the millage last year we wouldn’t even have this debate. Banjanin was the only willing to do it.
It may be time the IN takes a look at the county budget and suggest our cuts for rolling it back.
