More local Coronavirus postponements

Due to a recommendation from the Governor of the State of Florida to cancel gatherings larger than 1000 people, MercyMe will postpone their Pensacola date scheduled tonight, Thursday March 12th. The show has been rescheduled for Thursday October 15th  at the Pensacola Bay Center.  All tickets for the postponed date will be honored and you will have the exact same seat, no new ticket will be needed.  If you are unable to attend the rescheduled show, refunds will be available at the point of purchase.  We are sorry for the inconvenience, but our fans safety and the safety of the people involved in presenting our show is our number one priority. We look forward to seeing you October 15th, 2020 in Pensacola, FL.

City of Milton to Suspend Bands on the Blackwater

Based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to “cancel large gatherings of over 250 people,” and out of an abundance of caution, the City of Milton has today announced that they will suspend the upcoming Spring schedule of the popular Bands on the Blackwater Concert Series, scheduled to begin on March 27, until further notice.

“While there are no known cases of the COVID-19 virus within the City of Milton, we would like to keep it that way,” said City Manager Randy Jorgenson.

“We take our responsibility to safeguard the health, safety and welfare of our residents very seriously,” Jorgenson said.

Although no decision has yet been made to alter any other programs of the city, staff strongly encourages participants in the city’s senior program’s at the Milton Community Center to carefully consider their continued participation in light of the known risk the virus presents to senior citizens, especially those with other underlying health conditions.

“At this time, we do not want to completely cancel our senior programs altogether,” said City of Milton Parks Director Johnny Norton, “but we do want our seniors to carefully evaluate the current situation and make an informed decision to avoid any unnecessary health risk.”

“An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure,” Norton said.

Minor League Baseball (MiLB) issued the following statement today:
“In light of the current coronavirus outbreak, and after consultation with medical professionals and our partners at Major League Baseball, Minor League Baseball will delay the start of the 2020 Championship Season. We will continue to monitor the developments and will announce additional information about the 2020 season at a later date. We will work with Major League Baseball and our community partners to resume play as soon as it is safe to do so. The health and safety of Minor League Baseball fans, players and executives is our top priority, and our thoughts are with those around the world who have been affected by this outbreak.”
