From the Pensacola Liberation Center:
Within the last two weeks, two local Jewish centers have been vandalized, their windows smashed with swastika-covered bricks. Now, the Pensacola Liberation Center has also been outrageously targeted with antisemitic graffiti.
These acts of fascist intimidation will not be tolerated and must be answered with a community movement to ensure that Pensacola is a safe and welcoming community for people of all faiths and nationalities.
In March, the PSL Central Gulf Coast held an International Women’s Day event which was also targeted by a group of these self-proclaimed nazis, who chanted “white power” and other hate speech aimed at our black, Jewish, Asian, and transgender organizers and event attendees.
In response, groups from across Pensacola united for a rally against these nazis. We will continue to build this momentum. Only an organized, sustained effort of the people can create a safer community for us all.
In light of the latest white-nationalist activity, and in unity with all working and oppressed people, the PSL Central Gulf Coast will continue to organize our community to speak out against these acts of fascist assault and violence. We won’t allow a tiny group of fascists and nazis in our community to intimidate the masses of decent people who live here, nor will we allow them free reign to recruit. We call on all progressive people to raise their voice against nazis and fascists, and to show that racism, hatred, and bigotry have no place among working class people.
