Readers have sent us more information about the anonymous poll targeting Pensacola Mayor Reeves. One individual shared the telephone number of the pollster, (850)-350-5802, but the number was dead when I tried it.
- The reader said, “I saw your post earlier about survey targeting D.C.. I missed a call earlier from Tally and just called back. A guy answered and immediately launched into the survey. It’s pretty funny questions.”
Looking for Certain Voters
Some Pensacola voters have received phone surveys where the pollster had a series of qualifying questions that determined if the respondent would be allowed to answer the entire survey.
These are the qualifying questions that one individual was asked:
- How likely are you to vote in the next governor’s race in Florida and the Pensacola mayor’s race?
- What political party do you identify with?
- What’s your highest level of education?
The poll ended at that point if the desired answers weren’t given. Maybe the pollsters are looking for a certain demographic to finish the poll, and this respondent didn’t fit it.
Background
A mysterious and expensive political poll is circulating in Pensacola, raising questions about who’s behind the apparent effort to damage Mayor D.C. Reeves while testing potential challengers for the 2026 mayoral election.
The anonymous survey, conducted through phone calls and text messages, presents a stark contrast in tone. While praising State Rep. Alex Andrade, former Police Chief Eric Randall, Councilman Charles Bare, and County Commissioner Lumon May as having “wonderful” accomplishments, it poses pointed negative questions about Reeves.
Recipients report inflammatory questions, including whether they knew “developers fund D.C.” and if they were aware the mayor “only pays attention to white people downtown.” The professional six-to-seven-minute phone survey collected detailed demographic data, indicating substantial financial backing.
