More photos from Beach

This email and photos were sent to me:

At 11:00 this morning, Savannah took these pictures of the beach just east of the gate to Ft. Pickens/National Seashore. The wave action resulting from Tropical Storm/Hurricane Alex caused the oil to wash much higher onto the beach. It appears as though some minor attempt at creating a sand berm was attempted. I’m no expert, but it seems that we need a much more aggressive approach to berming to stop this oil from encroaching even more. I remember in the beginning the EPA was not in favor of berming thinking that it would destroy turtle nesting patterns but it would be a miracle if a single turtle made it through these conditions.
