This letter is in support of Sam Hall and his continuing effort to better our city and community.
Although Sam and I might not agree on everything, I have found him to be open and receptive to any and all ideas I have presented to him. He seems to be willing to listen and work together to solve problems.
My brother and I use to argue about how to get from point A to point B, as we would drive across town for lunch. Even though there are many ways to get to point B, they all seem to get there.
What this community desperately needs is leadership; a leader who is willing to step forward and take the heat to make a positive change.
I believe there are many city employees who serve our community well and do the right thing. Then there are others that we must keep an eye on, prod every once in a while and encourage to do a better job.
I have witnessed on several occasions city employees not doing their job. On the other hand, I have seen many city employees doing their job and I applaud them. City government is not unlike other businesses. There are good and bad people in all businesses.
We can not put our head in the sand and think that getting along is going to get anything accomplished. Sometimes we must step on toes to improve situations.
Sam, keep up the good fight! May we all strive to do the right thing for the right reasons.
Sincerely,
Larry B Johnson
