The Escambia County Animal Services department is partnering with Concerned Citizens for Animal Welfare to offer the reduced-cost surgeries.
“We are excited to be working with such committed partners who encourage responsible pet ownership,†said Delfi Messinger, manager of the county animal shelter, in a released statement.“World Spay Day is a great way to engage the community in reducing the overpopulation of unwanted pets.â€
In addition to half-price services, participating residents will also be entered into a drawing. Prizes include pet-gift baskets with $75 worth of treats and toys.
Participants must verify their household income, to ensure they qualify for the low-cost program. For more information, contact the animal shelter at 595-3075.
