“Morning Joe” Locked In Through 2029

Joe Scarborough running for president in 2028 seems less likely after he and wife Mika Brzezinski re-signed their contracts with MS NOW, keeping “Morning Joe” on the air through the end of 2029, according to the news website Axios.

Now entering its 20th year, “Morning Joe” has outlasted countless competitors, survived the turbulent cable news wars and evolved into a multi-platform powerhouse, which includes live television, streaming, a podcast and a newsletter.

  • Its reach is no small thing. President Trump reportedly watches. So do Democratic leaders, media moguls, ambassadors, CEOs, university presidents and a who’s who of American newsmakers. When Joe and Mika weigh in on a story, people in powerful places pay attention.

The Numbers

The show’s daily newsletter, The Tea, Spilled by Morning Joe, has already surpassed 116,000 free subscribers since launching just last October. The program is consistently one of MS NOW’s top performers on YouTube, and its podcast holds the title of the network’s most-downloaded daily audio program.

  • MS NOW President Rebecca Kutler said, “Joe and Mika have created something that cannot be replicated.”

With the 2026 midterms and the 2028 presidential race on the horizon, that platform will only grow in importance.

  • For Scarborough and Brzezinski, it’s clearly personal, too. “Mika and I are excited to be staying with our ‘Morning Joe’ family and friends who have been watching regularly for almost 20 years,” Scarborough told Axios.

Twenty years. In today’s fractured media environment, that kind of longevity is rare.
