The Orlando Sentinel is reporting that state lawmakers have proposed several bills that are nearly identical to those proposed by Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker:
SB 830, sponsored by Sen. John Thrasher, R-St. Augustine, bans government from automatically deducting dues from paychecks and requires members to specifically authorize the use of their dues for political purposes.
Another would require unions to tell their members every year what they must do to decertify.
