Northwest Florida Move to Amend will hold a public meeting at 7 p.m. on July 14 at the United Way Conference Room, 6479-A Caroline St, Milton.
Northwest Florida Move to Amend is a local affiliate of the Move to Amend Coalition, a non-partisan campaign for a 28th Amendment to the US Constitution so that:
We, the People of the United States of America, reject the U.S. Supreme Court’s Citizens United ruling and other related cases, and move to amend our Constitution to firmly establish that money is not speech, and that human beings, not corporations, are persons entitled to constitutional rights.
Two items are on the meeting agenda:
1 – Santa Rosa County Campaign for a constitutional amendment
2 – A video presentation on the Citizens United decision by Lawrence Lessig, Professor of Law, Harvard Law School
