The non-partisan coalition, Northwest Florida Move To Amend is organizing and implementing a new campaign in our community to support passage of 28th amendment to the Constitution of the United States, stating simply that MONEY US NOT SPEECH AND A CORPORATION IS NOT A PERSON. The meeting is Wednesday, May 14, 6:30 pm, at West Florida Public Library, Garden & Spring Streets, Downtown Pensacola.
This is intended to legalize democracy in the USA. Writing about recent Supreme Court decisions based on activist court interpretations that twist the constitution’s meaning and declare money to be speech and corporations to be people, retired Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens says, “All these decisions have done is make sure that Congress does not represent people, which is what it’s supposed to do. Rather Congress represents the people who have the money to finance campaigns.”
