Roger Villines, trumpeter and director of the Pensacola State College Jazz Ensemble, leads the session (Roger will be absent, however, during this January 6th Jam), with a great professional “house band”: Burt Kimberl (piano), Steve Gilmore (bass), and Fred Domulot (drums). Performing musicians are invited to sit-in and they are admitted free. The beauty of a jam session is that one gets to hear combinations of musicians not likely to be heard elsewhere. Always fun! Usually a full house, so get there early for best seats. Special menu and full bar available.
• When: Monday, Jan. 6. Music begins at 6:30 p.m., doors open at 5:30 p.m.
• Where: La Brisa Restaurant (formerly The Unique Cafe), 51 Gulf Breeze Parkway, Gulf Breeze (inside Bay Beach Resort, just across the 3-Mile Bridge from Pensacola)
• Admission: $10 for JSOP members with membership card, $15 for non-members, and $5 for students with ID. Seating is first come, first serve.
