Tuesday I volunteered as Mike Papantonio’s sidekick on The Ed Schultz Radio Show. We focused primarily on Wisconsin protests against Gov. Scott Walker. We had seen several reports on how the Koch brothers had paid for several bus loads of Tea Party supporters to go to Madison, Wisconsin and held a small counter-rally.
By all accounts, the teachers protesting against Walker have been peaceful, even though Walker has threatened to bring out the National Guard. Tea Partiers and others associated with Americans for Prosperity (another Koch-funded group) called the teachers “pigs” and tried to provoke them.
On Tuesday, we had a caller talk about the Tea Party people pushing and knocking down a young female teacher outside the state capitol building—which set Pap off. No one knows how to seize the moment like Mike. All I could do is laugh.
The more light you shine on these senile, look, you know (laughs) truthfully, they’re the last days of their lives, they really are, these old, fuddie-duddies or curmudgeons are at the last days of the lives and you have students there that are in the protest that say, well look, we want to have the same thing you have. We would like to have infrastructure. We’d like to be able to educate our children. We’d like the same quality of life that we gave you. And unfortunately, you know, I guess the bad news is they’re not moving through fast enough because we can keep people alive a long time with good medication. But that’s who you have showing up as teabaggers.
To which I add: “We’re just a few funerals away from a good government.”

What I can’t believe is that there are people who listen to these radio shows and write down everything we say.
