Myrtle Grove disappears after Clean Sweep

Four and a half tons of debris was collected in the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office’s Operation Clean Sweep today in the Myrtle Grove community.

Traffic checkpoints issued 24 citations, also making one felony arrest and seizing a vehicle (the last one not on blocks). Eight arrests (total) were made and Code Enforcement recorded 8 violations. The ECSO Sex Crimes Unit made six address verifications of sex offenders.

The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank two new Operation Clean Sweep partners for their participation: The Department of Juvenile Justice, which made 55 home visits during the operation and The U.S. Navy, Corry Station which volunteered their time to the cleanup.

The Myrtle Grove Neighborhood Watch was also instrumental in the event, providing support and lunch for volunteers.
