On Tuesday, August 7th neighborhoods throughout Pensacola are being invited to join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the “29th Annual National Night Out†crime and drug prevention event. National Night Out, which is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch and co-sponsored locally by the Community Drug and Alcohol Council, Inc. (CDAC), Pensacola Police Department, Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, NWFL Prevention Coalition, and national corporate sponsor Target. CDAC would like to encourage residents of Pensacola to come and join this family event. National Night Out is a great way for family, friends, and neighbors to stand together to promote healthy life styles and safer neighborhoods.
National Night Out is designed to: (1) Bring awareness to crime and drug prevention; (2) Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime efforts; and (3) Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships.
The event is from 6 to 8 p.m. at Magee Field, located at 2500 MLK Blv. Target will be providing school supplies during this event while supplies last.
