Baptist Hospital Gets New Administrator
A 38-year-old Pace man last night was appointed administrator of Baptist Hospital, Baptist Health Care’s nationally renowned flagship facility.
Mark T. Faulkner assumes leadership responsibility for the 492-bed hospital and its surrounding campus after two years as its chief operating officer. He also becomes a senior vice president for the Baptist Health Care organization.
A member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Faulkner first joined Baptist Health Care as an administrative resident in 1993. He held progressively larger roles within the organization, including five years as the administrator at Jay Hospital, before becoming Baptist Hospital’s vice president of operations in 2004.
A graduate of Milton High School, Faulkner grew up in Santa Rosa County after his family moved here when he was three years old. He holds a 1993 master’s degree in health administration from University of Alabama-Birmingham, where he graduated first in his class. He also holds a graduate certificate in gerontology and a bachelor’s degree in health care management from University of Alabama.
Honored by the American College of Healthcare Executives as its 2002 Young Healthcare Executive of the Year, Faulkner is a graduate of Leadership Pensacola, a former president of Tri-City Rotary Club and a former board member of Santa Rosa Educational Foundation. He currently serves as board member for United Way of Escambia County and as a deacon for First Baptist Church in Milton.
