New council, same problems

Today the Pensacola City Council has a workshop on the proposed new city charter. The word is the council will do nothing. They will do as their predecessors have done–vote to study it more. As in years past, this council that was elected to change things will try make us believe that studying an issue is the same thing as doing something on the issue.

For 18 months, the Charter Review Commission met openly. Every citizen, every council member, every council candidate had a chance to give their input.

Maybe all we need to do to convince the Pensacola City Council that we need a new charter is hand them mirrors.
