Adrianne Walker, the city’s strategic initiatives project officer, has sent to downtown businesses this update on the New Palafox Project:
Items to note—
Gallery Night is THIS FRIDAY (upcoming dates – 3/20, 4/17, 5/15) and involves road closures in which parked vehicles must be moved by 3 p.m. Signage is placed between 8 – 9 a.m. the day of the event. Vehicles must be moved by 3 p.m. to avoid a ticket.
- Please remember that access to the construction area is restricted to authorized construction personnel only.
West sidewalk along Plaza Ferdinand will be closed for roughly 6 weeks – pedestrians will be routed through the park or across the street.
- As early as Wednesday this week, asphalt install will begin on north end (please remember that intersections will be inlaid with pavers at completion).
Starting next week, Romana Street intersection will have a modified crossing pattern.
Below is a list of updates—
- Stormwater install – 80% complete.
- Curb and gutter install – 80% complete
- Irrigation install – 90% complete
- Paver install – 50% complete
Construction is on schedule for incentivized completion date of May 24 for Palafox portion.
