New plan to rezone church property in Cordova Park area

On the “No Dollar General” Facebook page, it has been posted that East Hill Baptist Church now wants to rezone the 3300 Summit property from R-1AA to RNC. They are going to bring this issue before the City Council on March 27.

This is the email posted on the page:

Elizabeth,

East Hill Baptist Church would like to withdraw their request for C-1 zoning and proceed with a request for a change to R-NC only. As you stated below, Dollar General has cancelled their sales contract, and my understanding is that Dollar General would not re-submit a contract at a later date if R-NC zoning is granted due to square footage limitations.

Please let me know if there are any issues with the requested change. You may also schedule for an earlier council meeting if that is more convenient. Please let me know if the council meeting changes from the current March 27 date.
