New plume found 20 miles off Mobile Bay

Washington Post is reporting University of South Florida researchers have found a new huge plume underwater that is northeast of the Deepwater Horizon rig. It’s made up of dissolved oil (i.e. disperants, thanks BP and Congressman Miller) and is about six miles wide, and extends from the surface down to a depth of about 3,200 ft.

Instead of floating on top of the water, it may be moving beneath it—which means containment booms are useless. NPR is reporting the plume is only 20 miles off of Mobile Bay. *%$#$%#W@!
