The Jazz Society of Pensacola’s Jazz Gumbo (implying a delicious mix of various ingredients giving a wonderful effect) happens every third Monday evening of each month except December. Live jazz is featured in a variety of styles with groups or bands chosen from around the Emerald Coast area. Doors open at 5:30.

EdMo Lanier is a music director, producer and arranger. He can play bass, piano, trumpet, harmonica, percussion and performs as a vocalist. His soul resides deep in the neighborhood of blues, jazz, R&B.
EdMo has toured Switzerland & North America. He has also performed with the Regal Empress Cruise line show band and has produced the music for “The Blocks†a documentary made for PBS. Ed has also shared the stage with greats Nat Adderley and Nancy Wilson.
He has written, arranged and produced a number of CDs exclusively featuring he special blend a jazz and blues.
The band will present a line-up of standards, jazz classics and more with the emphasis on the groove.”
Cost of admission is $10 for JSOP members with membership card, $15 for nonmembers, $5 for students with ID and free for military people in uniform. Admission includes a cup of seafood gumbo.
Door prizes are given away via drawing of admission tickets, and attendees can purchase 50/50 tickets for another drawing where the winner gets half and JSOP gets the other half as a benefit to the Society’s music program. One may order from the menu and cash bar is also available. Guests are welcome! Those joining the Society get free admission to their first Jazz Gumbo.
