No fraud at BP claim center in Mobile, Ala.

BP charged last month that it had evidence of fraud at the claims office in Mobile, Ala. David Welker, a former FBI supervisor hired by claims administrator Patrick Junea, said in a letter last week that his investigation found no evidence of fraud in any of the claims handled by the employee, who had been suspended when BP made its allegation.

The British oil giant calmed it received a tip in July that an employee at the Mobile Claimant Assistance Center helped people submit fraudulent claims in exchange for some of the settlement money.

According to AP, Welker said a subsequent examination of the employees’ computers and emails revealed no evidence of fraud.
