Superintendent Malcolm Thomas sounds like the “Nurse Nazi” in today’s PNJ article about the state legislature cutting funding for school nurses. Despite having doubled the district’s unrestricted reserves to a record-setting $56.5 million, the superintendent said that he only has funds for nurses at certain schools, those with a high volume of medical issues.
So you may hear next year when your child gets sick at school, “No nurse for you.”
