Marty Donovan and his naysayers had told city staff that they would deliver their petitions to Pensacola City Hall at 8:30 p.m. I went to City Hall at 8:20 p.m. and waited with camera to tape the historic moment.
At 8:31 p.m. No Marty…just the cleaning crew. No Jack Nobles, No Charles Fairchild, No C.C. Elebash, No Byron Keesler. No one.
At 8:33 p.m. I drove to Donovan Realty on Government Street and watched a small band pile into their pick-up truck, SUVs and cars and head home. At 8:38, the lights were turned off at Donovan Realty.
….the Donovan/Nobles petition drive is dead.
