Jack Nobles and Ray Russenberger ran against each other 2004 for the at-large seat on the Pensacola City Council. Nobles, the incumbent, won re-election.
Russenberger owns Bahia Marine Marina and The Oar House at the mouth of Bayou Chico. Nobles owns the Marina across the waterway from Russenberger.
A year or so again, Nobles was cited by code enforcement for not repairing his boat houses. There was a rumor – never proved – that Russenberger turned him in.
Russenberger’s restaurant has become very popular. It is on the back half of his marina property and uses part of the old Bayou Chico Bridge roadway – for parking and seating.
