Nodine update: Attorney claims evidence tampering


Mobile Press Register reports a motion filed by former Mobile County Commissioner Stephen Nodine’s attorney suggests a former worker in the Baldwin County Coroner’s Office may have tampered with evidence in the case . Nodine is charged with the murder of Angel Downs. His first trial ended in hung jury.

Baldwin County District Attorney Hallie Dixon announced this week that she has “substantial” new evidence in the case that she plans to submit to a grand jury, with an eye toward possible new charges and, possibly, a new trial in the case.
