Nominations are in for Pensacola City Council’s next leadership. Council members have thrown each other’s names into a hat and will choose a new president and vice president for 2012.
Receiving the most nominations for the president’s seat were Councilman Sam Hall and current Council Vice President P.C. Wu, with three nominations each. Council members John Jerralds, Ronald Townsend and Brian Spencer also were nominated for the top slot.
For their new number two, council members have nominated Jerralds, Townsend and Wu. Townsend received the most nominations with three.
Councilman Hall appeared to be the busiest nominator. After nominating himself for president, he also nominated Spencer and Townsend for president. Hall also nominated Townsend for VP.
Johnson and Townsend nominated Hall for president, while Wu was nominated by himself, Council President Mauren DeWeese and Councilwoman Sherri Myers. Jerralds nominated himself for the president’s seat.
While Townsend received the most VP nominations—from himself, Hall and Johnson— the other two nominees received one each. Jerralds was nominated by DeWeese, while Wu threw his on name up on the board for another round in the vice president’s seat.
