Oops, Aquarium leader may have lied again

PNJ reporter Jamie Page, whose investigation caught Bill Young, the founder of Aquarium for Pensacola, in lies about his support from elected officials and the number of petition signatures, has found Young may have yet again misstated the facts.

Young claims that the real culprit is Rodney Rowe, who has disappeared since January. He wrote in his latest apology letter that he met Rowe at the Pensacola Interstate Fair when Rowe was working the Republican campaign booth.

Page checked with the local GOP leadership. Rowe isn’t a member of the local GOP and didn’t work their booth at the fair. Read post.

Bill Young is very passionate about his idea for an aquarium. His passion pushed him to cut corners. He had few facts, little support from ECUA or the Pensacola City Council and even less money. When his facts were questioned, the house of cards collapsed and he has been pointing fingers and avoiding questions ever since.

Once Young releases his financial information and the list of pledges, we may find his proposal was even sketcher than we know now.

Good work by Jamie Page. He saved ECUA and the community from a boondoggle.
