Open Books: Fracking Stories

This Saturday, Earth Ethics, Inc. hosts Fracking Stories, a compilation of six short documentaries that expose the public health and environmental consequences of hydraulic fracturing.

The event begins at 6:30 at Open Books, located at 1040 N Guillemard St.

“Fracking is the process of drilling down into the earth before a high-pressure water mixture is directed at the rock to release the gas inside. Water, sand and chemicals are injected into the rock at high pressure which allows the gas to flow out to the head of the well.” – BBC News 2/16/2015.

There are several bills in the legislative session addressing this issue right now.

Mary Gutierrez, Executive Director of Earth Ethics, Inc., invites the public to attend and learn more about this issue and how to become engaged.
