Area residents can join in the fun to celebrate the poetry of Robert Burns, Scotland’s national bard, when Drs. Joe and Patricia Edmisten pay tribute to the poet Tuesday evening, Jan. 21. Their talk opens the first West Florida Literary Federation open mic of the year. The short program, which is inspired by Burns Night celebrations held in January around the world, is followed by readings of original prose and poetry. Come to listen or to read. Refreshments begin at 6:30 and readings at 7:00. Pensacola Cultural Center, 400 S. Jefferson, Second Floor, Pensacola, FL 32502. Free, open to the public.
