PACs smear opponents final weekend before Aug. 20 primary

Mud splatter

Five days after Rep. Michelle Salzman’s super PAC, Committee to Protect Florida, sent a race-baiting mailer attacking Walker Wilson as a Democrat to benefit Ashlee Hofberger in the Escambia County Commission’s District 4 GOP primary, another super PAC, Build the Wall, sent a mailer attacking Hofberger and Buck Mitchell for being “Liberal Fake Republicans” to benefit Wilson.

The PAC is upset that one of the candidates – unnamed in the flyer – dared to say, “We need to be talking about building really strong relationships in our community…”

Build the Wall PAC

The Buck Mitchell Campaign sent Inweekly this response:

“Both of my opponents have now gone negative because they realize what the voters of District 4 will confirm on August 20th- our experienced campaign with a positive vision for the future can not be stopped. So let them go negative. We doubt it will help them catch up to Team Buck!”

A political observer shared that Wilson was doing very well with the Conservative voters in District 4 and needed to reinforce their support for him.

Meanwhile, in Santa Rosa County

America Reborn PAC sent a video and this text:

Check out this video! Sam Parker, James Calkins, and Rhett Rowell have taken over $100,000 in donations from developers.

Meanwhile, Jerry Couey and Bobby Burkett have taken $0. See the truth for yourself.
