Papers need to take risks

papersI love this quote: “Quality US papers may never opt for the Independent’s provocative mix of news and views; it not only upsets the traditional church/state divide, it flies in the face of the emphasis on solid reporting at which they have excelled,” writes Sellers. “But the Independent’s and the Guardian’s experimentation prompt questions that US papers would do well to consider.”

Unfortunately, writer Frances Stead Sellers is talking about British papers, not our Independent News.

Maybe it’s time for US papers to consider taking more risks
