Party at Rubio’s

Marco Rubio’s having a party in Pensacola on Thursday, but the U.S. senator probably won’t show.

“He most likely won’t be there, but he will know we’re there,” said Lee Pryor, of the Northwest Florida Federation of Labor/Central Labor Council.
The labor organization plans to rally at Rubio’s office Nov. 17. The group will be joining forces with Occupy Pensacola to show support for the working man and voice concern over what they see as the Senator’s austerity-heavy agenda.
“The focus is on job creation,” Pryor said.
The groups will begin marching together at City Hall at 3 p.m., where Occupy Pensacola is currently camped on the lawn. From City Hall, they will walk to Rubio’s district offices at 1 N. Palafox St.
Pryor’s not expecting Rubio to be there to greet them.
“We don’t expect a solid response from him on why he’s leading the austerity measures,” he said.
