Pastor upset with Tom, Ann & Buddys shooting

Monday night Pensacola Police officers responded to Tom, Ann & Buddy’s, 1917 W. Cervantes St., around 9:40 p.m. after dispatchers received a 911 call about the shooting. Upon arrival, police were told a man had been shot inside the establishment and been taken to a local hospital by private vehicle. The
man’s injuries were not considered life threatening. The PPD is still looking for the shooter.

This isn’t the first shooting at the liquor store and bar on the western edge of Pensacola’s city limits and it’s that fact that has upset several in the community, including Rev. Lonnie D. Wesley of Greater Little Rock Baptist Church.

“The number of calls the PPD has received on this establishment is astounding,” said Pastor Wesley. “Add to that the fact that Walgreen’s is totally frustrated with the ‘stuff’ that flows from the happenings of this liquor store, then you have the perfect recipe for driving out businesses and endangering the lives of others. The Westside, and all of Pensacola, deserve better.”
