Ensley Elementary School is hosting a “Pennies for Pets†donation drive during the month of October, which is “Adopt a Dog†month. All the pennies collected during the month will be donated to the Humane Society of Pensacola to help with their mission to provide comfort and care for unwanted or abandoned animals in our community.
Last year was the first year that Ensley Elementary participated in the “Pennies for Pets†event, and with the help of the faculty, and the students and their families, the school collected $1,000. This year, the school will seek community involved with their goal to double that amount and collect at least $2,000.
Donations during the month of October can be brought to the school Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., or a representative from the school will come to pick up any donation. The school is located at 501 East Johnson Avenue. For more details, call Regina Smolensky, at 494-5600.
