Pensacola Beach: Another record broken

On WCOA this morning, Escambia County Commissioner Robert Bender reported that beach traffic hit a new milestone on Saturday, June 3 – 24,794 cars.

Friday – 20,744; Sunday 21,444

“I think that’s what we’ve really been blessed with this spring with these great weekends,” Bender said. “They had the Sea Turtle Baby Shower, which is what I went out there with my family and had a little time at the beach.

“Overall went well. As we were leaving the beach though the traffic was just backed up to Bob Sykes Bridge, and then when I got to the Chappy James Bridge, it was backed up a little on there. The lights in Gulf Breeze were slowing things down a little bit, so called the traffic engineer and he quickly flushed it and alleviated the problem. Overall I think it was a good weekend.”
