Pensacola-born jazz star blows his horn

Jazz Saxophonist Antoine Knight played to a packed host in Pensacola this past weekend. Knight grew up in Morris Court and Lincoln Park and graduated from Pine Forest High School 25 years ago.

Knight lives in Atlanta. He is seen as a rising star in the jazz world, having opened for jazz greats Najee, Kim Waters, Vesta, Steve Oliver and Marcus Johnson. He will be playing at Will Call in July at one of their “Soulful Sunday” concerts.

Antoine has agreed to come back to Pensacola in the fall and put on a fundraiser for the Southern Youth Sports Association (SYSA), a local grass-roots nonprofit organization founded by Lumon May that runs inner-city sports for elementary and middle school age kids.
