Pensacola Brain Drain

The cover story in this week’s issue of the IN, “Black Exodus,” is on the difficulty young African-American professionals have finding jobs in this community. In May 2006, we published the story “Exiles” about young people who had to move away to find better jobs, but we failed to examine what was happening in the African-American community. Over the past two years, I have talked with many Black leaders and seen that the “brain drain” is even more acute in the African-American community. Read “Black Exodus.”
