Pensacola Children’s Chorus Announces Open Winter Auditions

Pensacola, Fla. – DECEMBER 2022 – Calling all singers in Northwest Florida and Southern Alabama – it’s time to sing out and join the Pensacola Children’s Chorus! Auditions will be held Saturday December 17th and are open to students entering grades 1-12.

“The Pensacola Children’s Chorus is a welcoming, accessible, and affirming place for all,” says Alex Gartner, Artistic & Executive Director. “We specialize in helping each child find their voice. No previous musical experience is required. Just a desire to have fun and learn through song and dance.”

Singers joining us now will participate in the remainder of PCC’s season which runs through May with the aim of producing 2 mainstage concerts –One World Many Voices and Showtime. However, these larger than life performances reinforce more than vocal ability. Throughout the season, students are immersed in personal and social growth designed to equip singers with the tools to succeed beyond the rehearsal hall and stage.

“We are firmly committed to creating a path for all singers, regardless of financial circumstances, to participate in our program,” says Gartner. Singers can participate for as little as $15 per month. The chorus designates $40,000 toward tuition assistance annually and offers $6,500 in merit-based scholarships for returning singers.

Interested families need to register for an audition time by visiting www.pensacolasings.org. Middle and high school singers should be prepared to learn a brief choreographed section to assess movement and learning style. All ability levels welcome. No prior experience or training is required. PCC is located in the Margaret Moore Nickelsen Center (46 E. Chase Street), on the campus of First Presbyterian Church in beautiful downtown Pensacola.
