CITY COUNCIL RUN-OFF ELECTION INFORMATION

Escambia County Supervisor of Elections David H. Stafford today released the following information regarding the November 28, 2006 run-off election to decide the Pensacola City Council, District 2 contest:

  • The two candidates in the run-off are Sam Hall and Paul Young.
  • Only registered voters in Pensacola City Council, District 2 are eligible to cast a ballot in this runoff. Eight precincts are involved: 2*, 49*, 51*, 64, 72, 106*, 108*, 110*. PLEASE NOTE: precincts with an asterisk (*) are partially in the City of Pensacola, and partially in Escambia County – only those voters in the City of Pensacola are eligible to vote in this election. Check your Voter Registration Information Card for your City Council District, if applicable. Polling locations for these precincts are unchanged from the General Election, and will be open from 7 am until 7 pm on Election Day.
  • Absentee ballots are being mailed to all voters in this district for whom an absentee request is on file. Any voter may request an absentee ballot by contacting the Supervisor of Elections by mail, phone (850-595-3900), e-mail (soe@escambiavotes.com), fax (850-595-3914), or by using the online form at www.EscambiaVotes.com. Requests must include the voter’s date of birth or voter ID number, and the address where the ballot should be mailed. Requests must be received no later than Wednesday, November 22. Voted ballots must be received in the Elections Office no later than 7:00 p.m. on Election Day./li>
  • Early voting is not available in this election. However, voters may cast an absentee ballot in person at the Elections Office beginning Wednesday, November 15.
