Pensacola EggFest this weekend [podcast]

Great news for this year’s Pensacola EggFest — VIP tickets have sold out and there are a limited number of general admission tickets available for purchase for the Nov. 14 event.

The annual event, held at Pensacola Blue Wahoo Stadium, raises money for local charities while serving up some of the best barbecue in the south — all cooked on Big Green Eggs.

Dede Flounlacker, executive director of Manna Food Pantries, says Manna is able to provide direct assistance to the hungry in our community because of EggFest.

“The public’s support of Pensacola EggFest means so much to the local charities that benefit,” said Flounlacker. “Last year, Manna was able to provide 3,000 healthy meals because of the generosity of our community through EggFest. And other local charities have benefited as well.”

EggFest has given more than $420,000 to support local charities like childhood cancer and systemic hunger and has served more than 20,000 meals to those in need. Charities have included Rally Pensacola, Manna Food Pantry, Studer Community Institute, Last Mile 5K, NWF Guardian Ad Litem and Escambia County Sheriff’s Office Blazer Academy.
