The City of Pensacola uploaded its August 2016 monthly line-item report on Tuesday. Finally the Pensacola Fire Department has reined in its overtime, only spending $33,232 in August.
The Fire Department OT has skyrocketed under Chief David Allen.
May 2016: $66,849

July 2016: $90,459
The July report broke out from OT for the first time $25,485 as holiday pay.
Under Chief David Allen, the overtime has been $66,849 in May, $54,609 in June, and $90,459 in July.
The August OT is still higher than February ($24,750), March ($20,112) and April ($25,602).
Last year, the Pensacola Fire Department, under Chief Matt Schmitt, had $395,506 in overtime through August. This year the overtime YTD, including holiday pay, is $537,030. The Pensacola City Council only approved a budget of $298,900 for fire department overtime, but CFO Dick Barker has shifted around funds to cover the additional OT.
