The City of Pensacola Parks and Recreation Department in cooperation with the University of West Florida Sport Management and Public Administration programs are evaluating the city’s park system to better understand how to improve space and resource utilization.
Public input is being solicited through April 30, 2016 via a Parks Needs Assessment Survey and four public meetings. UWF Faculty will assist the Parks and Recreation Department with developing a strategic plan based upon the data collected and citizen input.
Residents can complete the needs survey to express their opinions about possible park improvements online at http://fl-pensacola.civicplus.com/2391/Parks-Needs-Assessment.
Those who want to offer ideas in person and help prioritize the data already collected through surveys can attend one of the public input meetings being held this month. The first meeting was held Thursday, April 21 at the Theophalis May Resource Center. An additional meeting has just been added to the schedule on Friday, April 29th. The remaining meetings on the schedule include these dates, times and locations.
