On Sunday, Feb. 2, Pensacola will be represented in Super Bowl XLVIII by Doug Baldwin, wide receiver for the Seattle Seahawks. The Pensacola Sports Association (PSA) invites its members, sponsors, and public to help congratulate Baldwin by signing and offering words of encouragement on the banner. Baldwin supporters can stop by the PSA Office (101 W. Main Street) in downtown Pensacola to sign the congratulatory banner during the following and dates:
· Friday, Jan. 24 (8 a.m.-Noon)
· Monday, Jan. 27 (8 a.m.-4 p.m.)
· Tuesday, Jan. 28 (8 a.m.-4 p.m.)
· Wednesday, Jan. 29 (8 a.m.-4 p.m.)
This banner will be hand delivered to Baldwin next week in New Jersey, where the Seattle Seahawks will play the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XLVIII.
Baldwin grew up playing youth football at the Salvation Army in downtown Pensacola. After graduating from Gulf Breeze High School, Baldwin attended and played football at Stanford. He began his NFL career in 2011 with the Seattle Seahawks. This is his first Super Bowl appearance.
